Job Description:
Job Title: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech Profession: Respiratory
/ Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: Polysomnography Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2
years required License: Valid State License required
Certifications: BLS, RPSGT, RRT/SD Must-Have: Floating required
between facilities Experience in polysomnography and sleep studies
for all age groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Experience with Adult MWT & MSLT, PEDS MWT & MSLT, Mask Fitting,
Titration, Arousal, Cheyne-Stokes, Complex Sleep Apnea, Hypopnea,
Periodic Breathing Ability to score PSG, recognize respiratory
events, and identify sleep stages Familiarity with cardiac
abnormalities, ECG, EEG, End-Tidal CO2, O2 Saturation Experience
with Periodic Limb Movement (PLM) Proficient in PSG and Respiratory
Inductance Plethysmography (RIP) Description: Float between
different facilities. Handle a patient load of 2-3 rooms. Ensure
familiarity with sleep equipment, specifically Natus Sleep Works.
Travelers are accepted with the understanding that they will float
to other units and/or facilities as necessary. First-time travelers
are welcome. No local travelers within a 50-mile radius. Compliance
with COVID-19 vaccine requirement is mandatory, with only medical
or religious exemptions accepted. Flu vaccine requirement also
applies, with exceptions noted. Minimum requirements for experience
must be met, including a minimum of 1 year of acute experience. Two
references from within the last 24 months are required. Candidates
may work in related pairs but cannot work the same unit if related.
Flexibility for scheduling is required; changes can occur with two
weeks’ notice. Travelers cannot start with pending background
checks; lead time for background checks is necessary. Modules for
training are included, and initial hours are categorized as
non-billable.
