Overview
We are seeking highly skilled Senior Project Managers with 5+ years
of PMI-based project management experience, specifically overseeing
electromechanical or technical hardware projects from cradle to
grave. This is not a Product Manager role. The ideal candidate will
demonstrate mastery in project management frameworks, tools, and
software, with a strong preference for PMP certification (or
willingness to obtain post-hire, with company sponsorship).
We have openings in two locations, each with distinct project
scopes:
- Cleveland: Manages 1-2 large-scale projects lasting 3-6 years
with multi-million to tens-of-millions budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead the full project lifecycle including scope, cost, and
schedule management.
- Use PMI frameworks and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera,
JIRA) for detailed planning and tracking.
- Collaborate across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and
external stakeholders.
- Identify and manage risks, scope changes, and project
constraints proactively.
- Generate and present reports to internal leadership and
external clients.
- Oversee external suppliers and contract negotiations aligned
with project goals.
- Ensure documentation of lessons learned and continuous
improvement.
People & Stakeholder Leadership
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project
milestones.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, including
government and commercial customers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project staff and
foster a high-performance culture.
- Champion organizational values: Integrity, Respect, and
Humility.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical,
Electrical, Aerospace, etc.)
- Preferred: Master's degree or equivalent
Experience
- Required:
- 5+ years of technical project management (not program
management) using formal methodologies.
- Experience managing electromechanical/hardware-based
products.
- Demonstrated success managing technical project budgets,
resources, and timelines.
- Experience with high-complexity engineering or manufacturing
environments.
- Preferred:
- Aerospace, CubeSats, launch vehicles, or satellite platform
experience (but not required).
- Government contracting familiarity.
- Adaptability across both small and large project
environments.
Certifications
- PMP Certification strongly preferred; company will sponsor
post-hire for exceptional candidates.
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) a plus.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven leader in technical product development
environments.
- Adept at managing varying project sizes and durations,
including shorter timelines and constrained budgets.
- Brings a hands-on, adaptable mindset with a bias toward
execution.
- Comfortable balancing multiple concurrent priorities in a
fast-paced setting.
- Experience from large firms (Boeing, Lockheed, etc.) is
welcomed if the candidate can demonstrate agility in smaller,
faster-paced environments.
