Job Description:
Account Manager
Since 2014, Upright (formerly Fund That Flip) has challenged the
status quo of slow, unreliable capital and gate-keeping into
investment deals. We've grown into an end-to-end financial
technology platform that helps entrepreneurs and investors generate
wealth and make an impact in their own communities across the
country.
We are doubling down on our commitment to an exceptional borrower
experience and maintaining healthy active book performance. For our
Account Managers, that means proactively enabling our borrowers to
be successful through intentional and consistent communication.
Account Managers will set realistic expectations, ask probing
questions, and deliver on customer success and satisfaction from
the time a loan closes to the time the loan is paid off.
Who You Are
Customer satisfaction is your biggest motivator. You're energized
by frequent phone conversations with borrowers, and having these
strong relationships allows you to anticipate borrower needs and
respond with urgency.
You describe yourself as a multi-tasker. You keep moving the needle
with your borrowers by taking ownership and being organized and
intentional in your time management.
What You'll Do
The Account Manager owns the relationship with the borrowers. You
will do this by...
Efficiently handling all inbound inquiries and concerns from
borrowers.
Making proactive contact with each of your borrowers every
month.
These interactions will likely include questions and concerns
about:
Construction draws,
Monthly interest payments,
Loan term extensions, and
Loan payoffs.
You'll then collaborate with the appropriate team for risk analysis
and processing.
Your ability to be proactive and intentional in your follow-up will
enable Upright to have accurate, actionable information about the
deal and the borrower, allowing the organization to make informed
construction draw and lending decisions.
Day in the Life
Each day you're likely to spend time with your fellow Account
Managers, sharing any issues that have popped up and ideas to solve
them.
You'll collaborate closely with a group of cross-functional
colleagues, including those from sales, servicing, & underwriting,
and you'll work with the borrowers in that region. You'll meet
frequently with that group to discuss the status of your deals, and
be the "right-hand" of the Account Executive, who will equip you
with access and insights into the borrower and deal.
You'll make a massive impact on the success of our business by
creating an exceptional borrower experience for the longest part of
our lending relationship - from loan close to payoff. Your impact
during this time will be a strong indicator of our opportunity to
retain the customer and receive repeat business.
Your First 90 Days in the Role
Your training will begin with some Upright basics (who are we, what
do we do, where does the role fit into the org). This is delivered
through a partnership between HR and the Account Management team.
You'll be set up with the hardware and tools needed to execute at a
high level from the very beginning.
You'll accomplish early success in the role by immersing yourself
in team best practices and absorbing essential team information.
We'll provide the context and knowledge which, coupled with your
curiosity and urgency, will support the accelerated actualization
of the anticipated impact you'll have in the role.
Preferred Qualifications & Experiences
Some previous sales experience is preferred, but not required
Technical proficiency, with knowledge of the following tools (used
frequently in the role) preferred, but not required:
Microsoft Office Applications
Adobe Acrobat
Google Workspace
Slack
Preferred candidates are in the Cleveland, Ohio area or are able to
commute to our Cleveland office.
