American Plastics is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Test Lab Technician (Contract or Intern) for our Innovation Center in Findlay, OH. This position will report to the Test Engineer. Quality is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction and trust. The Test Lab Technician plays a crucial role in upholding these standards. They're responsible for meticulously testing products, identifying any performance inconsistencies, and ensuring that every tested material or part meets the company's performance criteria. By taking pride in their work and attention to detail, they contribute to delivering consistently high-quality products to our customers, proudly made in the USA. Responsibilities • Perform all scheduled daily product and material lab testing. • Able to identify potential performance issues. • Work with Test Engineer to correctly identify performance non-conformances and applicable root cause(s). • Accurately complete all reports and able to effectively communicate findings. • Able to read, interpret, and execute applicable ASTM standards. • Able to read and follow applicable SOP’s and Work Instructions. • Follow all American Plastics safety guidelines. • Additional responsibilities at management discretion. Requirements A successful Test Lab Technician should have the following skills: • High School Diploma/GED and/or attending trade or university school required. •Ability to learn and operate applicable lab test equipment. • Strong communication skills. • Positive company attitude. • Task oriented. • Strong attention to detail. • Able to accept accountability. Requirements • Able to stand for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting to 50 lbs. and up to 80 lbs. team lift. • Communicate effectively, both verbal and written. • Must demonstrate good judgement and decision-making ability. • Highly motivated and independent. • Adhere to all safety procedures & help promote a clean lab environment. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel If you are interested in joining the American Plastics team and want to work in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
