Your Key Responsibilities Summary: The Project Purchaser for Business Unit Purchasing will be responsible for contributions for winning new business for Schaeffler by meeting customer quote requests, target costs, and launch delivery timelines of potential and awarded business through coordination within the purchasing department and supply base. The focus Business Unit for this role will be E-Drives within the E-Mobility Business Division, with support to Mechatronics and Modules as assigned. S/He will be an active member of respective program management teams for the applicable Business Unit and will be the purchasing department's lead representative within the applicable Business Unit projects and as assigned additional projects. This position will ensure that the selection and development of new suppliers is in alignment with regional and global strategic purchasing initiatives. The role will also participate in and lead negotiations as needed. Responsibilities: Organize complex purchasing projects involving extensive specification of requirements or negotiation processes for projects. Define sourcing activities and execute project related purchasing activities (incl. Make-or-Buy analysis) for the respective business unit/product line. Integrate external suppliers into the PDP (product development process) to ensure the external delivery at SOP (start of production) and represent the Purchasing department in PDP project. Lead relevant E-mobility Business Unit Purchasing projects for requirements to achieve the correct cost structure, launches on time and technical cost reduction initiatives. Project Management for Launching E-mobility projects (pursuing and awarded) with Purchasing, focus on E-Drives, support for Mechatronics and Modules. Drive Category Purchasing for results in Contracts, RFQ negotiations, Kickoff, and Follow-up for on-time delivery to meet necessary milestones. Participate and/or lead Technical Cost-Saving initiatives for the assigned/respective Projects. Drive for continuous improvement of processes with a goal of reducing total costs. Lead/Support in developing and implementing activities that are in alignment with Divisional and Corporate strategic Purchasing initiatives for the component area. New Supplier search and development to support the Business Unit Purchasing Projects Create, Manage, and Support new project acquisitions from Purchasing input in North America which will be handled by North America Business Unit Purchasing E-mobility team. Your Qualifications BA/BS or relevant experience Purchasing or project managment experience in procurement processes Strong negotiation, Project Management, Problem Solving, and People Development Skills Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-volume environment. Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management both domestic and abroad. Excellent PC skills with a focus on Microsoft Office suites.
