Full Time TRAVEL REQUIRED: 25% - 50%COMPENSATION: $57,361.00 to
$95,645.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation.
Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience,
and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate
outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to
membership in a protected class.About Our OpportunityThe Associate
Financial Officer (AFO) is responsible for marketing, marketplace
development, communication, relationship building and overall
growth of the marketplace portfolio through a focused balance of
sales, marketing and support targeting agricultural loans and
walk-in customers in retail offices. The AFO will originate loans
based on market needs and service marketplace portfolio as
assigned. In a collaborative environment, this position will also
develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and
external customers by providing consistent high-quality service
that is timely, thorough, and responsive to the needs of different
stakeholders. The AFO will work closely with Financial Officers
(FOs) and may cover multiple retail offices and marketplaces.How
You Will Spend Your Time
- Develop and maintains a significant professional presence in
order to yield sales to increase the Association market share in
the assigned territory.
- Use an understanding of customer goals to determine credit
strengths and weaknesses and deliver value-added/constructive
agricultural and financial information that will assist them in
their farming operation.
- Proactively contact and follow-up with agricultural loan
prospects and facilitate the sales process utilizing financial
knowledge and sales tools. Market and actively endorse all of the
Associations' products and services.
- Act as the initial sales team member contact for walk-in
customers and prospects.
- Assist Financial Officers with originating loans and servicing
customers within the assigned marketplace.
- Build professional relationships with influencers, community
leaders, prospects, and customers based on mutual trust and
respect.
- Attend industry, community and business development events to
build a significant professional presence in the territory.
- Develop and use an understanding of the customer's business and
credit position to deliver constructive agricultural and financial
recommendations that will assist in their farming operations.
- Determine the appropriate engagement based on customer
interactions and introduce customers to the FO after identifying
the scope of the operations and the business potential.
- Complete servicing actions required for individual customer
circumstances and to monitor the portfolio for timely
identification and service loans that expose the association to
risk.
- Manage or assist in the management of the assigned
portfolio
- Interpret and evaluate financial information and ask
appropriate follow up and probing questions to recommend the
appropriate product or service.
- Establish a mutual value with customers, receives applications
and enters information in the system as needed for new and existing
customers (includes gathering information needed to define
collateral).
- Set clear expectations with the customer while recommending
loan terms and conditions.
- Communicate credit decisions and options to customers. Minimum
Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in agriculture, business or
related degree preferred. 1 year successful experience in the
